Who We Are

As your Interpreter Ms. Cedar will create the best aesthetic solution for your project!

That artistic production you’ve poured your heart into, surrounded it with the most creative types you know and want it, needs it, to be interpreted deserves to have an interpreter who is an artist too.

You don’t want an agency sending the first generic interpreter that answered their mass email request (that’s what they do) to show up with their obligatory boring black uniform, with no knowledge of the aesthetics of your event, to be pasted onto your work of art.

What you deserve is an artist, familiar and experienced in the aesthetics of your art genre with the sensitivity and creativity to provide an asset, an added level of art – visually and communicatively to enhance your precious production – not to distract from it.

Mona Jean Cedar has a deep well of experiences and an extensive educational pedigree to provide the complimenting aesthetic your project is worthy of.  Let her help you design the approach to incorporating the interpretation layer best suited. It gives Ms. Cedar great joy to collaborate with fellow artists on cool and prestigious projects! 5, 6, 7, 8 - Let’s create!

Pilates For Interpreters

As sign language interpreters, our bodies are our instruments necessary to perform; therefore, we must keep them healthy, flexible, and strong. The very act requires the arms to be held aloft, most often sitting, continuously; and, if done improperly, injure will occur; repetitive incorrectness worsens already weak situations.

By applying these kinesthetically sound principles of Pilates to custom design exercises for the specific muscle groups involved in the act of interpreting such as arms, neck, shoulders, wrists, hands, etc. as well as our ever important core muscles, one is able to maintain the body’s capacity to interpret over extended periods of time.
Appropriate alignment, awareness of breath, and the precise control of muscle movement will augment the body’s natural resiliency to ensure us to become more proficient and efficient in performing our tasks. An enlightened relationship with the body reaps holistic benefits.
